We envision a world where everyone is recognised for who they are, and who they want to be. After trying to buy a gothic themed present for a friend after surgery, we discovered that there was nothing aimed at her personality and way of life. We hunted high and low for alternative welcome home gifts or 'get well soon', and in doing so, we discovered that the 'mainstream' still does not represent alternative identities and cultures; it was time to shake things up!

Bewitched Curiosities was born from AmyB’s lived reality: being visibly goth in a world that says “be yourself” and then side-eyes you for doing precisely that. She knows the long stares on the high street, the comments whispered on trains, the jokes that land like stones. She’s felt the gatekeeping, the stereotyping, the sense that standing out means standing alone. We were created so she—and anyone who’s ever been treated as a costume instead of a person—wouldn’t have to.
As a brand, we speak about AmyB because her story is our foundation. She built Bewitched Curiosities after years of hunting for pieces that reflected who she is without reducing her to a cliché. If you’ve ever been told you’re “too much,” “too dark,” or “not appropriate,” you already understand our why. We exist to make “different” feel like home.
